Two harmed in West Side crash

WEST PORTSMOUTH —Two people were harmed in a two-vehicle accident, including a 73-year-old lady who was life flighted to an area hospital.

The two-vehicle crash, streamer eastward on U.S. 52 in West Portsmouth sealed one eastward line and one westbound line on Tuesday dusk as a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse rear-ended a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, that sent a dual occupants of a Grand Marquis to a hospital.

According to a Ohio State Highway Patrol, Carolyn Shupert, 73, of West Portsmouth, was streamer eastward on U.S. 52 in a left line nearby Boland’s Mini Mart when Sarah Tilley, who was also roving eastward on U.S 52 in a left lane, struck Shupert’s Grand Marquis with her Chevrolet Traverse as Tilley was checking her mirrors for trade reduction than a quarter-mile before a dual cars were to pass a State Route 239 exit that takes trade toward State Route 73.

Shupert, along with a 9-year-old juvenile, were harmed in a crash. Shupert was flown to a sanatorium for treatment, while her 9-year-old newcomer was ecstatic by ambulance to a internal hospital. The accurate plcae of both people was not known.

Tilley, who is 32 and is also from West Portsmouth, along with her dual passengers, aged 12 and 4, were not harm in a crash.

An review into a pile-up was ongoing as of press time.
