Mazda CX-5 2018 review: GT diesel

Does it paint good value for a price? What facilities does it come with?

The GT sits towards a tip of a typically formidable Mazda operation that includes front or all-wheel drive, petrol and diesel engines, and a choice of primer gearbox or automobile transmission.

Only a fully-loaded Akera is pricier. Kicking off during $44,390 for a petrol auto, a cost rises $3000 to $47,390 for a diesel we had over Christmas.

The GT scores a 7.0-inch touchscreen with a 10-speaker Bose stereo.

Standard for your income is a 10-speaker Bose-branded stereo with digital radio, 19-inch amalgamate wheels, dual-zone meridian control, reversing camera, keyless entrance and start, a whopper of a reserve package, front and back parking sensors, journey control, electric front seats, LED foglights, active involuntary LED headlights, sat nav, automobile wipers, head-up display, leather trim, electric tailgate, powered and exhilarated folding mirrors, energy windows, a sunroof and space saver gangling tyre.

Few things are blank in this spec, though a miss of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is frustrating (although not odd in a segment). Mazda’s ‘MZD Connect’ multimedia is pretty good, however, and with 10 speakers and basic-but-useful smartphone integration, we should get by.

Presumably, a lowish-res 7.0-inch touchscreen is partial of a reason Apple and Android aren’t along for a ride.

The 17-inch alloys are customary too, and a usually choice is a ‘Soul Red’ paint finish.

The usually choice is a beautiful ‘Soul Red’ paint finish of the exam car, an wholly reasonable $300.
