“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses emotional to breathe free,
The unlucky exclude of your plentiful shore.
Send these, a homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my flare beside a golden door!”

“Immigrant families seeking haven are being ripped detached and interned by a charge of American forces,” pronounced Artistic and Executive Director Tom Prewitt. “Shakespeare called such acts ‘mountainish inhumanity.’ We can't continue this predicament in silence.

“From a commencement of prolongation on The Tempest, my goal was to support a play as a story of refugees and exiles that asks, ‘How can we all get along on this island Earth?’ So it is in that suggestion that Avant Bard has launched the Welcome Tempest-Tossed Campaign. We entice all to join us.”

General acknowledgment is $30 on Fridays; $35 on Saturday evenings and Sundays. A concession to RAICES Texas will be done automatically with any purchase.

THE TEMPEST plays to Jul 1, 2018, during Gunston Arts Center, Theatre Two, 2700 South Lang Street Arlington, VA 22206. For tickets, call (703) 418-4808 or go online.
